Privacy policy

Last updated October 9, 2026. This policy describes calculator inputs, ordinary website requests, contact messages and advertising when enabled.

Calculator inputs

Calculations run in JavaScript in your browser. Typing a salary, raise, filing status or state does not submit those fields to a calculation server. There is no account or saved calculation database.

The Share link button puts your selected inputs in the fragment of a link, after the # character. That fragment is not included in the ordinary HTTP request to our server. Anyone who receives the complete link can read the inputs, and the URL may remain in your browser history, clipboard or the service where you share it. Avoid sharing real financial figures if you do not want recipients to see them.

Older shared links may contain inputs in the query string, after a ? character. Query strings are included in website requests and may appear in server or service-provider logs. Use a newly generated link when sharing an example. We cannot describe older query-string links as never reaching a server.

Website delivery and logs

Our hosting and network providers process request data to deliver and protect the site. This can include IP address, time, requested URL, browser information and referring page. These systems may retain operational and security logs. We do not claim those logs are always anonymous or that every IP address is truncated.

Contact messages

If you email us, the receiving mail service processes your email address, message and any attachments. We use that information to respond to the request and investigate reported errors. Send anonymized examples rather than pay stubs, tax returns, identity documents or Social Security numbers.

Advertising and cookies

When Google advertising is enabled, Google and its partners may process identifiers, use cookies or other local storage, and serve personalized or non-personalized advertising depending on consent, region and settings. Where a consent message is displayed, use its options to accept, reject or manage available purposes and vendors. You can also adjust browser cookie controls. Rejecting optional advertising cookies does not change the calculator formulas. Advertising and consent providers have their own privacy information.

Analytics

The current calculator build does not include a separate analytics tracker. Operational logs and advertising services, when active, may still report activity as described above. This statement does not mean a website visit produces no data.

Privacy requests

Contact us using the details on the contact page for questions or requests concerning personal information. Rights depend on your location and the data involved. We do not request sensitive financial documents to use the calculators. The site is intended for general salary planning and is not directed at children under 13.
