Editorial & Corrections Policy
RaiseCalculator publishes calculators and practical explanations about changes in pay. Our purpose is to make the arithmetic, assumptions and limits easy to check. This policy was published October 5, 2026.
What our content covers
We explain gross raises, pay periods, simplified tax effects, inflation and salary comparisons. We do not offer individual tax, legal or financial advice. Examples use fictional situations and round salary amounts; they are not case studies of identified employees.
Evidence and sourcing
We use the IRS for federal tax rules, the Social Security Administration for its wage base, the Bureau of Labor Statistics for CPI, and identified survey publishers for salary budget research. A projected employer budget is labeled as a budget, not presented as the raise every employee received. Publication dates and measurement periods matter: a monthly inflation release and an annual salary plan measure different things.
We link primary sources where available. Mathematical examples show enough inputs to reproduce the result. An illustration without a statistical source is an example, not a claim about what most workers earn.
How to check the calculators
The methodology page documents formulas, supported filing statuses, pay-period conventions, rounding and exclusions. Use the worked examples as reference cases. The pay raise calculator is an estimate, and an actual payroll deposit can differ because of the effective date, withholding elections or benefit deductions.
Corrections and review
Report an issue through the contact page. Include the page, an anonymized set of inputs, the result you received and why it appears wrong. Please include an official source when reporting a changed tax figure. Avoid sending personal payroll or tax documents.
Material corrections should identify what changed and carry an updated review date. On October 5, 2026, we corrected the treatment of traditional 401(k) contributions in estimated cash increases, the head-of-household federal bracket boundary, and initialization of shared calculations. We also clarified the limitations of state estimates and salary budget comparisons.
Advertising and independence
Advertising, when enabled, helps support access to these free tools. Advertisers do not determine calculation results. Paid placements must be identifiable as advertising and must not imitate calculator controls, navigation or download buttons. We do not sell links within explanations.
